Winter/Spring Amemasu (White Spotted Char) & Sakura Masu (Cherry Trout) Fishing
Sakura Masu (Cherry Trout) is one of the most chased after fish in Japan, why not join us in chasing them? Notoriously hard to catch due to their soft mouths, it will be a real challenge to get your hands on one! But with our help we will take you to marks where you stand an incredibly good chance! You will also stand the chance at catching the Amemasu, a native sea run char that lives here in Hokkaido!
What You Need To Know
8 Hours Fishing
We start at the crack of dawn and fish until early afternoon. For the Amemasu (White Spotted Char) we will target both the salt and the fresh and the best fishing is February & March. For the Cherry Trout we will fish 100% in the salt as it is illegal to fish for them in freshwater with the best seasons being April/May! Get ready to fish off some crazy rock marks and some breathtaking beaches.
All Fishing Tackle & Waders Included!
We provide 10g-50g casting rods using jigs and crankbaits and minnows. Waders will also be included, albeit some locations walking boots will suffice. This is very weather dependent and with it being Winter/Spring time you never know if its going to be bright sunshine or heavy snow/rain! Be prepared for all weathers! This is a lure only trip, but if you are an experienced saltwater fly angler we will more than happily take you out!
Hard-Fighting Fish In The FREEZING COLD!
Winter fishing in Hokkaido is not for the faint hearted and we typically only suggest these trips for experienced anglers. Patience is key when targetting Cherry Trout & Amemasu with timing proving pivotal. But when you hook up get ready for that beautiful bar of silver.
Transfers & Transportation
We offer collection and drop off on the day of your tour within the Niseko area. Please let us know where you are staying so we can get fishing as soon as possible. With this type of fishing we start at fist light and its around an hour to an hour and half to our fishing grounds. Buckle in, grab a coffee and get ready!

Our Recommendation
This trip is only available to guests staying in Niseko. Why not add some fishing to your ski trip?! Sadly this trip is for experienced anglers and this is down to how tough it can be!
