Things To Consider & Potential Fishing Options
When taking part in a Hokkaido wide guided fishing trip, there are alot of things to consider. Hokkaido is bigger than you think and seasonality plays a very big part! We've detialed some key bits of information you need to know!
How Much Do you Want To Fish?
To take you to those breathtaking spots we do alot of hiking and alot of wading up and down rivers. Doing this 7 days in a row can be incredibly tiring! As a result we deliberatly tailor these tours to include as much fishing as you'd like. We can fish every day or on alternate days, whatever takes your fancy! We love to include sight seeing too - Hokkaido is just so beautiful!
Hokkaido is bigger than it looks!
Hokkaido is quite a big island it makes up 25% of Japan's land area. Driving from one side to the other can take in excess of 9 hours. Moving from location to location can take significant time and this limits our ability to explore the whole island (obviously depending on how long you book for or if you are happy doing some late night drives!)
We do our best to break up the driving and Hokkaido is so beautiful that driving a few hours looking at the world passing by isn't too bad! Especially when you see the incredible scenery and nature. Finally traffic levels are low so we can make progress without being stuck in traffic Jams!

Lake Shikaribetsu - Only open to fishing two months a year (June & September.) Head out fishing on one of Hokkaido's most beautiful lakes fishing for one of the planets rarest fish, the Miyabe Char.

East Hokkaido - Available in October/November, we can provide the opportunity of catching HUGE Amemasu. These fish are high up in the marshland rivers of East Hokkaido and can get to tremendous sizes.

Northern Hokkaido - Available in June & October we head to North Hokkaido targetting the world famous Sakhalin taimen. We will include lake fishing, river fishing and sea fishing for these specimen fish!
